I want to replace the main disks with SSD drives. will be professionally packed and shipped out via fedex to the Lower 48 States. The 598256-001 has been fully refurbished by. The smartarray is configured using RAID5. The 598256-001 is a fully tested HP Smart Array P410i Controller. We have a Proliant D元80 G6 running Windows Server 2008 R2 圆4. I plan to call HP sales but if anyone has additional thought on this I'd love to hear it. 09-29-2014 01:05 PM - edited 09-29-2014 01:06 PM. What I'm wondering is if this license enables me to do what I need. Within the ACU I do however see that the Smart Array Advanced Pack (SAAP) license (which I don't have) enables:
No luck in the upgrade adding any options to the ACU which was expected. All the direct firmware updaters were online versions only and I needed offline. My controller was firmware v1.66 so I updated with the firmware maintenance CD. I can split mirrored arrays but that's not what we want. I see no additional options to split up the arrays further logically and I looked through every clickable item on there. I verified I have the latest offline ACU cd, and booted it again. Is this not possible with the P410 or is there something I am missing? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to find a way to make B) above work so I don't have to waste additional parity disks. ESXi then sees all of the logical volumes without issue. Press F8 to open the ROM Array Configuration menu. Press Ctrl+S to open the Intel Boot Agent Setup Menu. At boot time, press F8 to enter the Integrated Lights-Out 2 setup.
Update drivers with the largest database available. These features are dependent on the Smart Array Controller model, firmware and number of hard drives installed. Just make sure you're on the latest Smart Array firmware and you're good to go. 4TB drive support was a late addition towards the end of the G7 lifecycle. The most current (2013) version of the P410 QuickSpecs lists 4TB SATA drives as supported. One of the alternatives is to create a (2) disk RAID 1 array, and TWO (3) disk RAID 5 arrays to use all of the disks. Get the latest official Hewlett Packard (HP) Smart Array P410i Controller storage controller drivers for Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, XP PCs. The P410 and P410i are functionally equivalent, as mentioned by KissMyAsthma13 above. I will then use extents to chain them together in VMware. Once I can do this, I will create a 10-20GB volume for ESXi, and several <2TB volumes until remaining free space is used. I have a HP DL180 G6 server with a P410 (512 BBWC) and 8x1TB SATA drives.Ī) Create a single RAID 5 array w/hot spare or RAID50 array using all physical drivesī) Logically split the RAID 5 / RAID50 group into separate 2TB volumes so I need to split it up to <2TB volumes before I get to the ESXi stage.
